Hey there! I am Cathy. I have an ardent passion for helping those seeking answers about life, especially the youth within the body of Christ. SOS Counseling is the result of God's vision for my life while I was struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts yet overcame it through a life-transforming encounter with Jesus.
As a follower of Christ, I believe that only God can fill the void in our hearts that the world often tries to fill it with pornography, substance, self-exalting ideologies, and others. As a counselor, I believe in treating my clients as counselees, therefore creating an informal and friendly setting while maintaining the integrity of a counselor.

My Story
My Testimony
My journey as a biblical counselor started when I hit rock bottom in life. In October 2017, I was facing extreme academic pressure which led to depression and I found myself questioning the purpose of life on earth and the existence of God. Eventually, my mind was filled with suicidal thoughts and ideation. Feeling absolutely hopeless about living in a world where nothing truly satisfied me and finding no meaning in life, I prayed for what I thought would be one last time. That prayer was just a whisper from my weary heart and my numb mind and all I said was, "Lord Jesus if you are real, save me from myself and give me freedom." The very next day I had a newfound peace in my heart and freedom from suicidal thoughts and ideation! It was truly the power of the living God alone because I did not have the power to save myself from death; only Jesus does!

My Calling to Counseling Ministry
Following that encounter with God, I was baptized. During that season of life, I felt God calling me to the ministry of counseling to help people like myself who have issues in life that no substance, media, philosophies, or persons can solve- because only Jesus can! Following that calling, I was led by the Holy Spirit to get equipped as a Biblical Counselor and earned my BA in Biblical Counseling at Mid-America Theological Seminary, Tennessee, USA.
